Atlanta, GA (February 18, 2009) -- On Friday, February 20, 2009, the top names in the hair industry will convene in Atlanta on the eve of the 2009 Winter Bronner Bros. International Hair Show for an evening of entertainment and networking, hosted by The Healthy Hair Architect, Tamisha “Mimi” Armstrong.

Taking place at one of Atlanta’s newest and trendiest night spots, 404 Lounge, industry image-makers from across the country will be greeted by celebrity stylist and hair guru, Tamisha “Mimi” Armstrong. “I wanted to reignite the local beauty industry scene as well as network and mingle with out of town industry professionals. It’s important to stay faithful, creative, innovative and motivated in this current economy, what better way than amongst your industry peers!” stated Mimi. The Healthy Hair Architect will also be showcasing her work with live models. Guests will also be able to schedule an appointment or initial consultation on-site via The Healthy Hair Architect’s virtual reception area.

Mimi’s flat irons have styled some of the most influential trendsetters including Fitness Guru Donna Richardson Joyner; Celebrity Event Planner I’na Saulsbery; and Barackawear Founder Lorielle Broussard. Her work has been featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Atlanta.Metromix.com, Necole Bitchie.com, Salon Digest and the cover of Black Enterprise magazine. In addition to running her successful hair boutique, Mimi travels as a Design Essential Instructor, training and educating aspiring stylists from Atlanta to Houston.

The “Welcome to Atlanta” cocktail reception will take place, Friday, February 20, 2009 from 8 pm to 11 pm at 404 Lounge on 1270 West Peachtree St., Atlanta, GA 30309. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served along with special cocktails provided by Remy Martin Cognac. Music will be provided by the World Famous G-Mack.

I am a modern-day “Girl Friday” hailing from the suburbs of Houston made the bold move to follow my dreams and channel my creative talents in the beauty industry. Having a background in corporate America and the entertainment industry, I have always dabbled in hair. I began in high school as a shampoo assistant at “Headliners Hair Salon”, in Houston, TX, to being the resident hair stylist in my dorm room during my college days at Dillard University. Under the encouragement and advisement of my long time stylist, mentor and owner of Blendz Haircare Studio, Paula Britt, I decided to embark on a new journey. I began working with the Blendz team in June of 2006 as a mentee and apprentice under the advisement of Paula. In January of 2007, I began working as a full time licensed stylist. I left Blendz in July of 2007 to pursue other aspects of the beauty industry bringing her to where she is today. While I enjoy all aspects of hair care, I specialize in custom blend color, cuts, and natural hair press/silk out..flowing hair. I am currently a distributor for DESIGN ESSENTIALS and am training to be a technician/platform artist with Design Essentials.
